Little gems of the Pearl, intro

Uganda is called the Pearl of Africa, presumably owing this nickname to Winston Churchill. That description is far from being presomptuous. This country has so much to offer to whoever is willing to take the time and discover the hidden little places that make all of its charm.
I must say however that I am not talking of the major National Parks, as popular as they may be. Rather, I am referring to those places who hold this special little magic touch that reaches one's soul, and make one want to pause and contemplate. To those people that can be welcoming, open and willing to share.
We have now been in Uganda for more than two years, and I have decided to share the many little gems we have come across during this period, travelling from East to West, South to Centre (North is yet to come). Hopefully you will have one day the occasion to come here and discover them yourself !
These stories will be classified under the ''Little gems of the Pearl'' tag.

Jinja, lake Victoria
